Here’s the link to the Etsy post that shows the address is commonly being used by hackers.Welcome to r/Scams, a subreddit for all your scam identification needs! The last reply the buyer gave was “but it’s FRAUD! So you won’t fix it? You’re no better than the hackers!” I don’t care if they payment dispute me because I’ll still win and keep the money. I told this buyer they need to take it up with eBay or their CC. ![]() The issue is up until now the buyers understood that I am unable to issue refunds or replacements to their “correct” address. So them overlooking the hackers address change is not surprising. They never check if it was an old address, missing a unit number, or even previously changed to a giftee or something. We all know that buyers always have incorrect shipping addresses all the time. Then the buyer gets what they want but doesn’t notice the shipping address is different and submits the order. Hackers go into a buyers account and just change their shipping address and log out. I’ve ran into this issue 3-4 times so far with buyers in the last year so it’s probably a new scam. There is something, obviously more than one thing, that I am missing here. If my dog eats it I'm going to complain to them that they need to give me a new burger since my dog took the first do the hackers just hack in to any accounts they can, change shipping adddresses, and then wait to see what might randomly arrive? If ebay sides with her, then I'm going to go to McDonalds and order a burger and leave it out. I told her I only can do that when the package arrives back to me. She tells me that she isn't messaging me about the hacking at all, the fact is that she still doesn't have the package delivered to her in NV and insists I refund or replace them. Probably thinking that it would put her in a bad light. It's funny because she never mentioned any of this to me in the first place. She got irritable and replied to me to stop telling her all that because she already knew she got hacked and everything. So I told the buyer all that I found and urged them to change their passwords and everything. ![]() It talked about the hackers using it for ebay, etsy, and other online purchases. That address even showed up in an Etsy thread about how many buyers got scammed with that address as their shipping by hackers. I've had 3-4 buyers get hacked this way before. Then I checked the address and found it was a freight forwarder. I told the buyer the complete FL address that shows up in my order details and she says she doesn't know anything about it and that she's in NV not FL. Then she asks for a refund or replacement telling me how distraught she is and how urgent the package is. She said she lives in NV but for "somehow" I sent the package to FL. I first heard about this when the buyer messaged me and played dumb.
